The Producer School
New national programme made by and for independents to launch in Leeds as a prototype for providing authentic support for freelancers in the arts.
The school will run from February 2017 - November 2017, was born from a place of wanting to offer development support for free without any expense to the participant, to anyone who needs it the most. Details and specific training sessions will be build with the participants, based on what they need, want and can bring to the school.
Across 10 months, 8 producers will receive support ranging from residencies and retreats, to workshops and mentorship.
The Producer School is a programme supported by Arts Council England, Gifting Leeds, East Street Arts and Yorkshire Dance Amplified. It is an independently run initiative, devised by a steering group of producers, programmers and artists.
- Supporting the Producer in all administration, project management and producing of the project, including; office admin, travel and accommodation arrangements, communication with participants and facilitators, supporting the recruitment process, management of the residency week, troubleshooting and problem solving, representing the project.
- Assisting the delivery of a residency week for the participants in Leeds and a three-day retreat at the end of the process
