Ruth Morgan

Senior Projects Manager

Select Travel

"From start to finish Melanie Purdie plans, executes and evaluated the brief from conception to performance. She is the consummate professional working equally well as an individual or as part of a team. Flexibility, a warm sense of humour and any partnership she builds stands on a wealth of experience."

Emma Beverley

Producer

"I've worked with Melanie in multiple capacities over the last two years, including as an Assistant Producer on the Producer School. She is a very considerate and thoughtful producer: her eye for detail and care towards often quite sensitive projects is one of the main reasons I hope we continue to work together."

Deborah Pakkar-Hull

Artistic Director

Theatre Company Blah Blah Blah

"Mel has worked from the Blahs in an Associate capacity for over two years. During that time she has been our 'go to' person for a variety of producing and operational tasks. She is efficient, completes work to a very high standard and has a 'can do' attitude. She is also personable, positive, a great communicator and has become an essential part of our extended team.

Most recently she has worked with us as a Producer overseeing an R&D process involving international artists, where she was responsible for arranging visas and travel, monitoring budgets - paying fees and expenses, contracting artists, organising a suitable rehearsal space, supporting the team during the process and pulling together an evaluation. Mel managed the process so well that all the participating artists commented on how supported and valued they felt."

"Melanie Purdie is a joy to work with. Self motivated and intuitive, she's one to watch!"

Peter Reed

Compass Live Art Festival

"Mel took park in the first edition of our Compass Young ProducerScheme in 2014. Quickly making bonds with the rest of the scheme participants she demonstrated an intelligent approach to all our workshops, training sessions and masterclasses through considered and critical thinking. Whilst working on placement with our festival team and festival artists she was a credit to our organisation and her contributions to those projects were invaluable. We hope in the future to engage Mel in her capacity as a freelance producer and would be proud to join the portfolio of artists and organisations she has supported professionally since completing the scheme."
